CT Machine Electrical Panel
RuncoN

CT Machine Electrical Panel Manufacturers

RuncoN CT Machine Electrical Panel is the main electrical control and distribution unit for a Computed Tomography (CT) scanner system. It manages and protects the electrical power supply to all parts of the CT system — including the gantry, X-ray tube, high-voltage generator, patient table, operator console, and cooling system — ensuring safe, stable, and uninterrupted operation.

Our panels are custom-engineered to meet the exact power and wiring specifications of the installed CT system, complying with IEC 60601 and NFPA 99 medical electrical standards. With dedicated power feeds, built-in surge protection, isolation transformers, and emergency stop circuits, every RuncoN CT panel is built to protect both the equipment and the patient.

Main Functions

The RuncoN CT Electrical Panel serves as the nerve centre for all power management and control functions of the CT scanner — delivering clean, protected, and distributed power to every subsystem while maintaining continuous safety monitoring.

Power Distribution
Receives 3-phase supply from the hospital main or UPS (400/230 V AC) and distributes it to the gantry, table, computer systems, generator, and all CT subsystems.
🔧
Power Conditioning
Ensures clean and stable power through isolation transformers, EMI filters, and voltage regulators — preventing fluctuations that could affect image quality or damage sensitive electronics.
🛡️
System Protection
Circuit breakers, fuses, surge protectors, and emergency shutoff switches protect both the CT equipment and operators from electrical faults, overloads, and transient overvoltage events.
🎛️
Control & Monitoring
Includes status indicators, alarm outputs, and safety interlocks. Integrates with the Building Management System (BMS) for centralised monitoring and fault reporting.

Typical Components

Every RuncoN CT Electrical Panel is assembled with precision-grade, medical-standard components — each selected for long-term reliability, compatibility with CT OEM specifications, and ease of service access.

1
Main Circuit Breaker
Disconnects the entire CT system from the facility power supply in a single operation — providing the primary isolation point for safe maintenance, fault clearance, or emergency shutdown.
2
Isolation Transformer
Provides complete galvanic isolation and voltage matching between the facility supply and the CT system, reducing leakage current to safe medical-grade levels and protecting patient and operator safety.
3
Power Contactors & Relays
Control the flow of power to each CT subsystem — enabling safe, sequenced startup and shutdown of the gantry, X-ray generator, table drive, and cooling systems as required by the control logic.
4
Surge Protection Device (SPD)
Clamps incoming voltage transients, lightning-induced surges, and switching spikes before they reach sensitive CT electronics — protecting the high-voltage generator and imaging system from irreversible damage.
5
Emergency Stop Button
Instantly cuts all power to the CT scanner in an emergency, accessible from the scan room, control room, and equipment room — ensuring immediate, safe shutdown when required to protect patients and staff.
6
Cooling Fan / AC
Maintains the panel's internal temperature within safe operating limits, preventing heat buildup from affecting relay performance, insulation integrity, or the reliability of electronic control components.
7
Grounding & Bonding
A dedicated CT ground separate from the building structural ground ensures electrical safety, minimises electromagnetic noise, and prevents ground loops that could introduce artefacts into CT images.
8
Control Switches & Indicators
Manual control switches and colour-coded indicator lamps provide clear, real-time visibility of system status — ON, OFF, FAULT, and STANDBY — enabling operators and technicians to assess panel condition at a glance.

Power Requirements

CT scanners require a dedicated, isolated three-phase power supply with tightly regulated voltage and frequency. The exact specification is provided by the CT OEM and must be followed precisely during installation.

How the CT Machine Electrical Panel Works
🔌
Step 1 — Dedicated Supply 3-phase power from a dedicated hospital feed enters through the main circuit breaker, which provides the primary isolation and protection point for the entire CT system.
🔇
Step 2 — Conditioning Power passes through the SPD and isolation transformer, removing surges and galvanically isolating the CT from the building supply before reaching any sensitive subsystem.
Step 3 — Distribution Contactors and individual circuit breakers route clean, protected power to the gantry, X-ray generator, patient table, console, cooling system, and ancillary loads in the correct startup sequence.
🛡️
Step 4 — Monitor & Protect Status indicators and alarms continuously monitor panel conditions. The emergency stop circuit provides instant, safe shutdown of the entire CT system when activated.
⚠️ Installation & Safety Notes
📜
IEC 60601 & NFPA 99 Panel design and installation must comply with IEC 60601 (Medical Electrical Equipment), NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities Code), and all applicable local electrical regulations.
🏗️
Technical Room Installation The panel must be located in a dedicated technical equipment room adjacent to the CT scanner room — with proper temperature and humidity environmental control maintained at all times.
👷
Qualified Engineers Only Design, installation, and maintenance must be carried out only by qualified medical electrical engineers. CT OEM-specific power requirements must be followed exactly to maintain system warranty and compliance.
