How a Temperature Control Panel Works

Step 1 — Sensing Thermocouples or RTD sensors continuously measure the actual temperature of the process or environment and feed real-time data to the controller.

Step 2 — Control Processing The PID or ON/OFF controller compares the measured temperature against the programmed setpoint and calculates the corrective action needed to eliminate any deviation.
Step 3 — Output Actuation Relays or contactors switch heating elements or cooling systems ON/OFF in response to the controller's output signal, adjusting thermal input to bring the process back to setpoint.
Step 4 — Stable Temperature The closed-loop system continuously adjusts its output, maintaining stable and accurate temperature across all load conditions while triggering alarms for any out-of-range events.
